Ikaria Dementia Village

Ikaria Dementia Village is a specialist dementia care community located within Belenois Retirement Village in Krugersdorp. It has been designed to provide residents with dignity, comfort, security and meaningful daily living in warm, welcoming surroundings that feel like home.

TOTALCARE Living follows a resident-centred approach that respects each person’s identity, life history, routines, preferences and individual needs. Care supports emotional, physical, social, intellectual, spiritual and environmental wellbeing.

Every potential resident is evaluated according to their cognitive and physical functioning. This helps the team identify the environment and level of support best suited to the resident’s needs, safety and ability to adapt socially.

Ikaria consists of eight purpose-designed homes arranged in welcoming neighbourhoods. Each home accommodates six residents, creating a smaller and more familiar household environment. Private and shared en-suite bedrooms are available.

Landscaped gardens, comfortable communal spaces and carefully planned pathways allow residents to move freely within a protected environment. The surroundings are designed to reduce anxiety, encourage familiar routines and promote connection and belonging.

Residents participate in social, cognitive and meaningful daily activities that engage the mind, body and soul. Activities are shaped around individual abilities, favourite pastimes and cherished routines.

Services include furnished accommodation, housekeeping, unlimited laundry, meals prepared on-site, social and cognitive activities, 24-hour nursing care, assistance with daily living and medication management.

Yes. Residents receive 24-hour nursing care and support with daily living activities. Ikaria is supported by experienced dementia care professionals, including TOTALCARE Living Nursing Services Manager Nicolette de Jager and on-site physician Dr Carina Venter, who specialises in geriatric care.
